Something new in Room 2005
Our Room 2005 was waiting for something more and Emanuele Salini, the architect of La Maison de Pommard made it in very arty way.
Totally found of raw materials he is constantly scoring in shops, flea markets, odd places for them. After he just bought the materials for our wall pieces and carried it tucked under his arm on his skateboard, I visited him in Paris and while we were chatting and I was admiring his collection of chairs hanged on the wall, he started to work making the loudest noise with his hammer, giving shape to the metal - the future wall piece. It was like an opera of the most modern jazz compilation I've ever heard in my life.
What stunned me, as soon as he touched the aluminium foil, the piece started becoming alive. When we hung his leather panels in La Maison de Pommard, our Room 2005 suddenly felt so vivid, almost as if we had put the sun there.
