Exquisite Guest Rooms La Maison de Pommard

La Maison de Pommard Luxury Guest Rooms in Burgundy

La Maison de Pommard proposes four luxurious guest rooms and a Suite. The rooms are named for historic Burgundy vintages.

The entire space can be privatized on request.

All of our rooms are different and unique. Traditional building materials including ancient stone, hardwood historic beams, and lime plaster combine with contemporary lines and bespoke furniture designed for modern comfort. This "wabi sabi" environment provides an ambiance of serenity and relaxation. La Maison de Pommard in Burgundy  represents the luxury of simplicity, and the elegance of purity.

Television  In order for our guests to benefit from the serenity of this location, and to disconnect from the day to day, we have chosen not to install televisions. A Screeneo or Nebula projector can be made available on request.

Air conditioning For ecological reasons we have declined to aircondition the rooms. However all of our rooms are well insulated with plaster and cork. A system of double ventilation allows us to lower the temperature of the rooms to approximately 22 degrees C in case of heat waves.

Double flow ventilation offers the immense advantage of continual air flow, summer and winter. The room temperature is immediately comfortable and air is circulated constantly. It is a communal system and is to the benefit of all the guests. We will explain optimal utilisation when you arrive.

Room 1969

18m² 2 pers. 160 x 190 cm

1969 was one of the finest vintages of the century in Burgundy and the decade of hippies. 1969 is the all white room of La Maison de Pommard. Its intimist architecture with rounded forms, punctuated with light recalls Greece, Morocco, Ibiza where it was the capital of cool...

The walls of waxed white concrete are dressed with long linen curtains, punctuated with narrow black lines and hooks to hang coats. The Room 1969 is a veritable cocoon, its sober lines ideal for a weekend of relaxation near Beaune, or a visit to Burgundy. A cozy room and a space in which to unwind.

Room 1811

32m² 2 pers. 160 x 200 cm

1811 was the year of the Great Comet, which was visible in the sky during the grape harvest that year. Some felt this supernatural phenomenon was responsible for the exceptional vintage that year, the greatest of the century, called The Comet Wine.

A special atmosphere pervades this Chambre-Boudoir. A delicate balance of historic and contemporary elements, a blown glass lighting fixture by Foscarini descends from the ceiling while ancient floor tiles support bright pink chairs and in a corner a comfortable armchair with contemporary curves invites the guest to relax.

The vintage bathtub reigns in the vast bathroom where solid brass fittings and etched glass against patinated walls create a soft and agreable light that invites to the ritual of the bath...

Room 1985

40m² 2 pers. King size 200 x 200 cm or two separate beds 100 x 200 cm

A cozy atmosphere of antique tiles and bricks, vintage furniture and a small fireplace in a niche makes this particulary hospitable. The warm materials is a reminder that 1985 was one of the coldest years in the last century. In Burgundy hundreds of hectars of vineyards were destroyed by frost in January- temperatures went down to -25 degrees. In the alcove of the room a comfortable armchair invites you to read or meditate while contemplating the view of the garden.

A refined and elegant bathroom, with sober lines covered in granite. The Room 1985 represents the ideal marriage of natural materials and contemporary design to provide an ideal holiday in Pommard.

Room 2005

46m² 2 pers. 160 x 200 cm

Recessed lighting illuminates the stone stairwell thats leads to this room on the second floor of the house.

In the sitting area, soft light is diffused by Sisal netting on suspended fixtures, cosy pillows and a rug complete the corner. In the bedroom two beautiful modern reading lights punctuate the plaster wall surrounding the bed.

A built-in workspace runs the lenght of the room.

The vast bathroom with both tub and separate shower is of grey waxed concrete, and calls attention to the bespoke sink fixture designed by the architect of the house particularly for this room.

The Suite

49m² 1 à 4 pers. 2 beds 80 x 200 cm 180 x 200 cm

On the second floor of La Maison de Pommard, a luxurious suite is located, composed of a living room, and a bedroom with an open bathroom with an enormous tub.

In the living room, a long cushioned seating area with several soft pillows is an invitation to relax. The perfect spot to daydream or read in the light from the skylight.

Futon matresses may be used as two separate twin beds, or as a double bed depending on guest preferences.

In the bedroom the volumes are vast, structured by the historic beams, a great wall of stone and brick and an imposing lighting fixture of black bamboo. The soft natural colors form a perfect background for a visit to Burgundy, for two or more.
